Relax from daily job stress during a working holiday.

The Donkey Farm in Martinići has become a well-known tourist attraction for both the local population and tourists from different parts of the world. The owner of the farm, Darko Saveljić, shows through his example that it is worthwhile to engage in rural tourism in Montenegro and proves that effort, hard work, and a well-designed concept bring results.

In April, it will be 11 years since the Donkey Farm was founded. Excluding the two years of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 150,000 people have visited the farm in about nine years.

The large number of visitors has been helped by documentary films broadcast on German television, as well as recommendations from well-known brands and travel guides such as Porsche, Ryanair, and Lonely Planet.

Saveljić points out that the farm is especially popular with tourists from German-speaking countries, and that during the summer months around ten thousand guests from those countries visit the farm.

The farm also records excellent attendance during the New Year holidays. In addition, one of the most popular events organized at the farm is the New Year’s Ball with Donkeys, held for both children and adults.

The Donkey Farm in Martinići, located just 20 kilometers from Podgorica, is a unique place in Montenegro dedicated to protecting these noble animals from extinction. Here, nature, tradition, and humanity come together to create a special experience for all visitors.

At the farm, you can spend time in direct interaction with the donkeys — feeding them, brushing them, and getting to know their friendly nature. Visitors also have the opportunity to learn more about the role donkeys once played in life in the Montenegrin countryside, as well as their importance in preserving cultural heritage.

A special attraction is the Donkey Museum, along with a collection of old agricultural tools that testify to the traditional way of life in rural areas. The farm also organizes programs with therapeutic effects, especially for children and people with various health difficulties.

Instead of a traditional entrance ticket, visitors bring fruit or vegetables to the farm, which are used to feed the animals. At the end of the visit, you can taste products made from donkey milk and take home an authentic souvenir from Montenegro.

A visit to the Donkey Farm in Martinići is ideal for families, nature lovers, and anyone who wants to experience a different and authentic side of Montenegro.

Be part of an ecological and humanitarian initiative — visit the Donkey Farm in Martinići and enjoy an unforgettable day.

At the Donkey Farm, you don’t pay a traditional entrance fee — instead of money, admission is paid with fruit or vegetables, which are used to feed these wonderful animals.

Be part of this unique story of nature, tradition, and humanity!
