We start our journey to Bay of Kotor at the agreed place in Bar and by bus, we head towards Kotor. On our way to Kotor, we will enjoy the Riviera of Bar and Budva.

We take a photo break at Sv. Stefan, today the elite resort of the world jet set, and once a fishing village.

In Kotor, you will have free time for refreshment and walking through the old town.

The magnificent walls of Kotor, preserved baroque palaces, lavishly decorated churches, colorful squares have made this town one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Also, Kotor become one of the top cruise destinations. After a visit to Kotor with an escort of the AVE-Tours agency, we board on a boat where a guide awaits you and start cruising the Bay of Kotor. Her beauty has inspired many world-class artists. At his first encounter with Bay of Kotor, Bernard Show said, “Whoever sees her will never forgets her.”

Our Lady of The Rocks – sailor’s sanctuary!

On the cruise, to  Bay of  Kotor, our first destination is Our Lady of the Rocks Island, a shrine for sailors. You will discover the story of the island’s origin while visiting the church, as well as and the life in Bay of Kotor in its greatest bloom during the reign of Venice.  The interior of the church is decorated with 68 oil paintings by famous Baroque painter Tripo Kokolja and votive gifts of seafarers. These are works of art that many prestigious galleries in the world would like to have in their collection.

We continue our cruise towards the entrance of the Bay of Kotor. You can use this time to taste the rich gastronomic offer of the boat. Each place  in the bay has its own charm and personality. Perast is proud to preserve the maritime culture of this area.

The entrance to the Bay of Kotor is adorned with three fortifications: Oštra, Mamula and Arza, built during the rule of Austro-Hungary. They had a defensive character in the preservation of Kotor, an important trading center and Tivat – military naval port. At this point our boat will anchor. If you want, you can take the opportunity to visit the Blue Cave (optional) with smaller boats. It is one of the most beautiful attractions of the Montenegrin coast. Second option is swimming in the clear water of beach Žanjic.

You will experience what a fortified coastal town looks like from the sea by visiting Herceg Novi, town that was founded by Bosnian King Tvrtko I in 1382. Forte Mare, The fortress of Kanli-Kula, Citadel … are fortifications that still today testify to the tumultuous past of the town where various rulers were replaced, each giving its own special seal to Herceg Novi.

Today it is a town of mimosas that has nurtured the Festival in honor of the Mediterranean flower for over 50 years. After a tour of the town and a short break we continue our journey towards Tivat.

Before the end of the cruise, we pass by the exclusive marina Porto Montenegro. There is a bus waiting for the group in Tivat, which will take us back to Bar.

I only have one word to describe this tour: incredible! We had a fabulous time cruising the bay of Kotor in a very big boat! The boat had many areas to relax, eat, and view the bay from every direction. I was excited at each place we stopped to hear the history and legends of this wonderful country. The church on the Island was beautiful and I enjoyed hearing the stories of how the sailors were protected. I can’t wait to do this tour again and visit Blue Caves once more! We also got to stop in Herceg Novi where we found a wonderful restaurant! I would recommend this tour to everyone. It is a full day and AVE Tours makes sure every detail is planned for you.

I am already planning my next trip!

This was one of my favorite things we did! You got to relax in the sun while taking in beautiful sights and learning about the history all along the bay! The boat was spacious and had shaded areas to relax if you got too hot in the sun. Also the blue cave was incredible!
