Skadar Lake is one of 5 national parks in Montenegro and one of Ramsar protected Wetlands, and home to various species of birds, including pelicans. Experience the mesmerizing allure of the lake as you explore different areas, each offering a unique and picturesque landscape.

Begin your adventure with a stop in the visitors center right in Vranjina, a small village that is actually an island connected to the land via bridge. Our guide will walk you through the turbulent and surprising history of this peaceful place as you make your way to the Visitor’s Center.

Next, venture out onto the glistening waters of Skadar Lake on a 2-hour long boat cruise. As you sail across the tranquil surface, allow yourself a moment to enjoy the untouched beauty of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery. The boat will take you to one of the quiet beaches on the lake as well. 

After the boat cruise, you will enjoy a lunch with the view of the lake. At the traditional restaurant, local delicacies will be served. 

Finally, you will make your way to the charming town of Virpazar, where you’ll embark on a walking tour. Discover the rich history and culture as you stroll through the streets and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere. Make sure to look your best as we will show you some of the best viewpoints in the country.

We enjoyed our Skadar Lake tour! The tour started with a journey through the museum where we had a wonderful guide who explained all the National Parks of Montenegro–it was very informative! Next, we boarded a boat and spent a couple of hours cruising around the lake seeing the beautiful birds and plants. Duško and Ivana told us if we were lucky we might see Pelicans. And we were lucky! We saw many Pelicans and were able to watch them swim and fly. Beautiful! After that we went to a restaurant and beach only accessible by boat where we relaxed, swam, and were able to eat the wonderful fish meal prepared there.

Based on great experience of some of our friends my husband and I booked several trips with Ave Tours agency.
We booked with some other agencies in Montenegro but this one was by far the best.
I have to say I’m always little nervous booking anything online but everything turned out perfect.
The ride was comfortable and the drivers throughout the trip were friendly and handled the van safely.
Tour guide was exceptional. Beyond what we expected. Great energy and very knowledgeable.
She made sure we are well taken care of and that everyone has a good time!
Prices are reasonable as well and we can’t wait to go back to Montenegro and have more adventures with Ave Tours!
